Math 1071 Exam Info (Fall 2021)

Format

All midterm exams will be given in-person in class during your regularly scheduled class time. The final exam will be given during the exam block scheduled by the university (as in-person).  In the event of make-up exams the use of Lockdown Browser with monitor or WebEx proctoring, both which requires a WebCam mya be requuied. Check with your instructor to see which is required for your class. More information about Lockdown Browser is available.

Exams will consist of multiple choice questions and free response questions. On the free response questions, you will be graded both on the final answer and the work submitted.  More details will be given prior to each exam.

Calculators:

Graphing calculators: TI 82, 83, 84, 84 plus, 85 or 86 may be used. Models TI-89 and above (including TI-Nspire) are not permitted on the exams or quizzes.  See this link (from the University of Arizona) for more detailed description of what is and is not allowed (including Casio brand calculators).  At your instructors discretion, you may also use the Desmos.com Test Mode app, a free calculator app.


Exams

There will be three midterm exams and a cumulative final:

  • Exam 1:
    • Sept 24, during class time
    • Worth 15% of your final grade.
    • Covers A.1, A.2, A.6 1.1-1.5
  • Exam 2:
    • Oct 22, during class time
    • Worth 15% of your final grade.
    • Covers 3.1-3.4 and 4.1-4.5
  • Exam 3:
    • Nov 19 during class time
    • Worth 15% of your final grade.
    • Covers 5.1-5.6 and 6.1
    • Final Exam:
      • Final Exam Week
      • Worth 15% of your final grade.
      • Cumulative. During Final Exam Week during the time scheduled by Registrar’s office. Covers all sections covered during the course.
